Ohio State star sophomore quarterback Braxton Miller was carted off the field in the third quarter vs. Purdue. Reports are Miller suffered a head injury after Purdue cornerback Josh Johnson dragged him to the turf. Miller’s head struck the ground hard, and he was in obvious pain while medical staff attended to him on the field.

Miller had to be helped off the field, and was carted to an ambulance. ESPN sideline reporter Louis Johnson said during the fourth quarter that Miller would be taken to Wexner Medical Center on the Ohio State campus.

Tests conducted there came back negative on trauma to Miller’s head and neck, Columbus Dispatch reporter Bill Rabinowitz tweeted.

Initial reports were Miller suffered an injury to his head, the generic language generally indicating a concussion. Miller was unable to move of his own volition initially, so the “clean bill of health” the Ohio State SID reports Miller to have had is a tremendous blessing.

Ohio State trailed 22-14 when Miller was knocked out of the game. Reserve quarterback Kenny Guiton led the Buckeyes on a touchdown drive and scored the tying two-point conversion in the final minute, and Ohio State won 29-22 in overtime to remain undefeated.
