Florida State Number One In AP Top 25 Poll

Reigning national champions Florida State sit atop the AP’s 2014 preseaosn top 25 poll. The Seminoles received 57 of 60 first place votes to keep the number one spot.

Alabama comes in second in the poll and received a first place vote. Oregon and Oklahoma followed them and each received a top vote of their own. Ohio State rounds out the top five.

Last year’s runner-up Auburn debuts at number six. Three SEC teams make up the top nine of the of the poll with South Carolina ranking ninth. Eight SEC teams total make up the top 25 with Florida, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt also receiving votes. This makes 11 of the 14 SEC teams receiving some sort of recognition from the AP.

The PAC 12 is represented pretty well themselves, logging six teams in the top 25. This includes three teams in the top 11.

The Big 12 managed just three teams in the poll – OU, Baylor, and Kansas State. Texas, Oklahoma State, TCU, and Texas Tech did received votes, however.
