MIAMI KEY: The Miami Hurricanes have continually improved under Al Golden, and the program has withstood the darkest days it was facing after the Nevin Shapiro scandal. Now, with hopes of winning the ACC Coastal, the Hurricanes open the season in a road game against new ACC opponent Louisville, who beat them in the Russell Athletic Bowl. And beat them pretty easily, I might add. This is obviously a different Louisville team with a new system and a new quarterback, but the Hurricanes have the talent, so they’ll need to take advantage of inexperience on the Cardinals offense and create a few breaks to win this game on the road. Consistency at quarterback will be key as well.

LOUISVILLE KEY: Charlie Strong and Teddy Bridgewater are both gone, but Cardinals fans are excited as ever with the return of Bobby Petrino. His presence has kept expectations high for Louisville, and with returning starters in a lot of places, a new, old era at Louisville looks very promising. But there’s still the issue of a new system and a new quarterback going up against a team that has raw talent all over the field. The Cardinals cannot go in thinking this is the same Miami team they beat last year, nor can they go in thinking that they are the same team as last year. The biggest thing for Louisville will be to limit mistakes on offense and take advantage of the inexperience the Hurricanes have at quarterback as well.
