Just when we thought we were going to have a decent read on the Top 25 teams this week with quite a few exciting games, a bunch of overlooked teams decided to change everything.
With Virginia Tech and Louisville having rising stock, East Carolina and Virginia stepped in and messed up both teams. As Georgia had the chance to firmly cement itself as the top team in our Top 25 with two major quality wins on its resume, South Carolina changed it up and made its way back into the SEC title hunt. A couple of other top teams had close wins and lost their quarterbacks, and many teams who didn’t begin the year in the Top 25 have now made a case to be in the race for the Top 10.

There are still lots of teams in the hunt to make the college football playoff at the end of the year just three weeks into the season. Luckily, we’re able to factor in quality wins more this week than we have been able to all year, and although style points are still a bit of a factor, they are slowly diminishing. Preseason hype is just about gone.
