The Duke Blue Devils and David Cutcliffe are coming into Saturday with their high-powered offense looking as good as ever after a 41-3 blowout win over the Kansas Jayhawks last week. This is a balanced offense that relies more on the running game than the passing game, but Anthony Boone can be great in the pocket, so don’t short-sell him. Duke needs to continue to develop that offense, and what might be most impressive, though, is that the defense has looked very good through the first three games. It may not have been against anybody, but it’s still something to be encouraged about going forward.

The Tulane Green Wave finally got a win last week agains Southeast Louisiana after starting the season 0-2 with a heartbreaking overtime loss to Tulsa and a loss to Georgia Tech in the second game. Fortunately for them their offense hasn’t looked too bad through the first three games, but the defense has been a huge problem. That has to be corrected going forward if the Green Wave want to compete for anything, and it has to start Saturday.
