Saturday Blitz Vegas SEC Predictions Week 5

Saturday Blitz SEC Predictions Record Last Week: 6-2 (37-5 Overall)

So the SEC may not be as dominant as we thought.

Sorry, couldn’t write that with a straight face. The SEC East may not be as great, but the conference as a whole is still far and away the best conference in college football. It’s simply one-sided with the dominance. Missouri’s stunning loss to Indiana is not going to change that.

This conference still has seven teams in one division who belong in the Top 25 and at least two teams in the other divisions. There could legitimately be nine teams in the Top 25 from the conference right now, and currently there are eight teams. That’s not including Missouri by the way. Tennessee, Florida, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky are the only teams who haven’t flirted with the Top 25 in the conference this year.

Unfortunately, with eight teams in the Top 25, conference play begins this week and we don’t have one Top 25 match-up. There are definitely some intriguing ones, but not one that will draw anybody’s interest.

More from Arkansas Razorbacks

The SEC really is saving it’s great games for the October and November slates this year. However, you should still tune into some of the games Saturday.

Tennessee-Georgia is a noon game that could be closer than you think, Vanderbilt-Kentucky could be a huge game with both teams still hoping to make a bowl, Memphis has played well so far and could give Ole Miss a closer game than you might think, and Missouri could be looking to get revenge on South Carolina.

The big game is Arkansas-Texas A&M, where one SEC Powerhouse matches up against an SEC West team in the process of proving it belongs. All of these games will be entertaining to watch, so there’s no reason not to tune into them.
