One of the country’s most fun players to watch, Utah State Aggies’ quarterback Chuckie Keaton, is likely out for the season.

Keeton injured his knee in a 36-24 victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deaconss back on September 13 and missed their 21-14 overtime loss to the Arkansas State Red Wolves a week later.

It is the same knee that took Keeton out last year after he tore both his ACL and MCL.

“Chuckie’s health is our top priority and he has not been cleared to play by our medical staff,” said Utah State head coach Matt Wells in the school’s released statement. “We will continue to monitor his progress throughout the fall, but given his current condition it is unlikely that he will play in any games in the foreseeable future.”

Keeton has had a fantastic career and although he struggled in a 38-17 loss to the Tennessee Volunteers and in a 40-20 victory over the Idaho Vandals, he was likely in for another big season.

The Aggies will be in Provo to take on the 4-0, 18th-ranked BYU Cougars Friday night (10:15 pm EST, ESPN).

Darell Garretson started in Keeton’s place against the Red Wolves.
