The Mississippi State Bulldogs are the country’s new No. 1 team.
A week after blowing out the then sixth-ranked Texas A&M Aggies 48-31, Mississippi State faced an even tougher test in the defending SEC Champions and second-ranked Auburn Tigers on Saturday afternoon.
Despite turning the ball over four times, Mississippi State earned their second straight impressive home victory with a 38-23 win over Auburn. They were then voted No. 1 in both the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll, jumping the Florida State Seminoles, who took down the Syracuse Orange 38-20.
