We have learned based on the rankings earlier this week that the Selection Committee doesn’t respect the conference right now, meaning the elite teams in it are going to have to play that much harder to have a shot at the College Football Playoff.

This weekend won’t help that.

To be fair, there is a pretty good slate of Big Ten games, but there is nothing that will take your eyes off any other game at first glance.

As far as the elite teams go, Nebraska has to play Purdue, and Ohio State has to play Illinois. Decent games, but they might not be great. They’re still worth watching if they can become upsets, though. Michigan State, though, doesn’t play this week, which puts a bit of a damper on the excitement for this weekend.

  • Then you have Maryland-Penn State, and don’t sleep on this game. It’s a budding rivalry with both teams in the Big Ten that should do a lot better than the last time Maryland and Penn State had a rivalry. This time, the Terps might actually have a chance to win a few.

Wisconsin at Rutgers is a game worth watching to see which team will be on a roll the rest of the year, and Indiana and Michigan are playing to barely stay afloat. Northwestern at Iowa could be a decent noon game as well.

All in all, this isn’t that impressive of a Big Ten slate, but it’s still one with games worth watching. There are still plenty middle of the pack teams in this conference, and this weekend could decide if those teams make it to a bowl game this year or not.

So with that slate, here are the Saturday Blitz Vegas Big Ten Predictions for Week 10 of the college football season.
