The final week of the college football regular season  has been wrapped up for most conferences, and with Conference Championship Week up next, the College Football Playoff is still wide open. Well, to a point.

As we bring you our College Football Playoff Projections for this week, there are now six undefeated or one-loss Power Five teams who remain the clear-cut Top 6 teams in the country right now. Mississippi State’s loss to Ole Miss at least cut out one team and the possible controversy of two SEC teams in the playoff.

But sorting them out has proven incredibly tricky.

Based on the College Football Playoff Selection Committee’s inconsistent criteria, our guess is that TCU will be No. 4 heading into this weekend with the Top 3 the same. However, the selection of games this weekend do not favor the Horned Frogs.

Ohio State gets a huge game against the Wisconsin Badgers, while TCU is stuck playing Iowa State. Meanwhile, Baylor plays Kansas State. Both teams will likely fall significantly below the Buckeyes in schedule strength after this week, and that will matter to the Selection Committee.

It is not entirely certain what other factors will play into it, however, including if the injury to J.T. Barrett will mean anything to the committee. But they will definitely care about who the teams beat this weekend.

That alone favors the Buckeyes. Will it be enough, though, to vault them into the Top 4 if they win? And who else will make it in? Could TCU or Baylor get in along with the Ohio State while another team is left out? And who gets that ever-desired top seed in the College Football Playoff?

Also, which two-loss teams are still in the College Football Playoff race? All five Power Five Conference teams that are projected to win their conference and only have one loss play a two-loss team still in the conference championship race. How’s that for drama this weekend?

Take a look at our take on how all of that will play out in the Week 15 College Football Playoff Projections.
