Spring practice is getting underway across the Big Ten so let’s take our first look at the Big Ten power rankings in advance of the 14 team’s spring games.

Spring practices are beginning to ramp up (for some schools they have already begun) and the conference is coming off its strongest showing during bowl season in a decade.

More from Big Ten

The defending national champions, who are loaded with talent coming back, can now be found within the conference, a consecutive top five finishing Michigan State team with talent of their own returning are hot on their heels, and some guy named Harbaugh returned to bring his alma mater back to national prominence.

Nebraska (attempting to get over the hump) and Wisconsin, (just can’t seem to get someone to stick around) are also bringing new coaches into the fold, continue their battle for West Division supremacy.

Penn State, Minnesota, and Rutgers look to build on successful seasons in their own right. While Illinois, Iowa and Maryland are looking to build from bowl berths, but less than stellar performances in them. Northwestern, Indiana, and Purdue are still trying to find footing and take steps toward getting to the magical six wins.

Things are absolutely trending in upward direction for the conference, who has been the punching bag for the college football nation in recent years, so let’s dive into the spring edition of the Big Ten power rankings for the 2015 season.
