Alabama Crimson Tide Coach Nick Saban missed the boat again, saying he’s sorry for how the Jonathan Taylor incident played out but not for his decision.

Alabama Crimson Tide Head Coach Nick Saban came out and apologized Monday  for how the Jonathan Taylor incident played out. Taylor, who was twice arrested at Georgia in 2014, once on a theft charge and later on a domestic violence charge, was kicked off the team and allowed to sign with Alabama, where he was dismissed Sunday after a second domestic violence arrest.

Unfortunately, Saban said he is not sorry for giving Taylor the opportunity, according to ESPN.

Saban once again gave his speech defending second chances. Only this time, it rings hollow.

We already reported on Sunday that Saban went too far with his “second chance” talk when it came to Jonathan Taylor. Well, it looks like we were not able to reach his mind.

Or Saban just wants to ignore it.

But let’s reiterate it.

Coach Saban, this was not a second chance. This was a third. Taylor’s second chance was blown while he was still at Georgia. His first domestic violence charge was when he blew it.

Don’t forget about the theft charge earlier that Spring, coach. Mark Richt was the one who gave the second chance. You gave him a third.

And even more egregious, you gave him a third chance after a domestic violence charge. How can you defend that? At least wait until the facts come out before desperately trying to play your “humanitarian” card of saving players.

Again, I’m with you on going at guys who get on their high horse and talk about how players should always be perfect and get kicked off for the smallest mistakes. We know they’re kids.

But we also know that certain things are never okay. A domestic violence charge FOLLOWING a theft charge should be one of those things. You messed up coach. Own it.
