Every year, top NFL prospects slip out of the first round. Before we start day 2, I take a look at the top 10 players left on the board.

Character risk Shane Ray was selected at the end of the first, but big name players Dorial Green-Beckham, Randy Gregory, and La’el Collins did not. Most NFL teams played it safe in the first, but we could see some of these character guys go early in the second where there’s less risk.

The UCLA kids Kendricks and Odighizuwa may have slipped because of injuries. Odighizuwa had multiple hip issues during his time in Los Angeles, and Kendricks has struggled with ankle issues. Both are very talented players that will present good value in the 2nd round.

Top running backs Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon were taken in the top-20 last night, but this is a very deep class at running back. We could see as many as five running backs go in the second if a run starts. Tevin Coleman, Duke Johnson, T.J. Yeldon, Jay Ajayi, and Ameer Abdullah could hear their names called.

Just because you weren’t taken in the first round doesn’t mean the players who hear their name called tonight can’t be instant impact performers as rookies and have long and productive careers.

Here are the top 10 players left on the board who shouldn’t have to wait too long to hear their name called tonight as they begin their NFL career.
