Which school is the best at developing defensive backs?

It’s a tradition as old as time. Debating which school is the best at churning out NFL players at such a high rate that they are called [insert position group here U] and the Florida Gators and LSU Tigers are engaged in a debate about who is the real DBU?

Florida released a video in recent days claiming they are the real D.B.U. and you can see that video below that got the debate heated.

LSU countered with their own video on Wednesday.

LSU rising sophomore safety and former five-star recruit Jamal Adams picked the Tigers over the Gators when he was being recruited out of the state of Texas and chimed in with his thoughts on the debate via his twitter account.

Looking at the Thorpe Award winners as the nation’s top defensive back and you’ll see LSU has a pair of recent winners in Morris Claiborne and Patrick Peterson and had a Heisman finalist in Tyrann Mathieu but Florida has only one winner, Lawrence Wright in 1996.

Meanwhile, Texas has two Thorpe winners and has referred to themselves as DBU for years, so they should make a video to enter this fun offseason trash talk.

Florida State, Colorado and Arizona also claim two Thorpe winners since the award first while Oklahoma has the most with three, so maybe it’s not LSU or Florida, but rather Oklahoma who is the real DBU.
