Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller will not be leaving the Buckeyes and will finish his career in Columbus.

Braxton Miller has been one of the most talked about college football player this offseason as the fifth-year senior quarterback has had his name bandied about in transfer talks.

The national champion Ohio State Buckeyes are loaded at the quarterback position with the two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year returning after missing all of last season after undergoing shoulder surgery and have J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones competing with him for the starting job.

But Miller is not scared by the competition or the crowded depth chart and will not transfer to play his fifth year as a grad transfer, according to ESPN’s Joe Schad.

Barrett set program and Big Ten records with his play last year and is nearing full health after breaking his ankle in the win against the Michigan Wolverines. Jones took all the reps in spring practice with Miller and Barrett rehabbing and turned down the NFL Draft after he went beat Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game and Alabama and Oregon in the College Football Playoff.

Head coach Urban Meyer can do no wrong no matter who he picks and could win a national championship with any of the three under center and it’s anyone’s guess who ultimately wins the job and is starting in the opener against Virginia Tech.

Besides the transfer speculation for Miller there has been much speculating about a position switch to wide receiver for Miller to help his chances of being drafted next year with doubts about his pro potential as a quarterback.

Whether it’s at quarterback, wide receiver or a jack-of-all-trades offensive weapon, no matter where he lines up, he’ll be doing so in a Buckeye uniform.

In his last season, Miller threw for 2,094 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions and added 1,068 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. He finished fifth in the 2012 Heisman vote and ninth in the 2013 vote, respectively.
