Ole Miss left tackle Laremy Tunsil is at the center of an NCAA investigation investigating alleged multiple rules violations by the Rebels football program.

NCAA officials were at Ole Miss to interview the stepfather of Ole Miss junior left tackle Laremy Tunsil, one week after the All-American candidate was arrested on domestic assault charges after hitting his stepfather.

The stepfather, Lindsey Miller, claims the fight stems from his warning Tunsil about his contact with player agents. Miller tells the Clarion-Ledger that he met with NCAA director of enforcement for roughly three hours and alleges Tunsil violated NCAA rules.

It’s not a violation to meet with certified player agents but it is a violation to receive transportation from them and Miller said Tunsil left after the altercation in a yellow convertible with the agents. In addition, Miller alleges Tunsil received cash, clothing, had help paying car insurance and more, according to Riley Blevins of the Clarion-Ledger.

During the recruitment of Tunsil who was the No. 5 overall recruit and part of the Rebels lauded recruiting class three years that netted No. 1 overall player Robert Nkemdiche, Laquon Treadwell and Tony Conner, Miller made further claims that Tunsil’s academic records were falsified and he received gifts from the university.

Miller and Tunsil are scheduled to appear in court July 14 but he and Ole Miss could soon have bigger problems on their hands if the NCAA finds the claims made by Miller are accurate an Tunsil’s eligibility could come into question.

Tunsil is a projected top-five pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
