Georgia Football: Quarterback battle settled for now
The Georgia football program is in the midst of an upheaval at the quarterback position for the second straight year, and the ongoing battle for that job has been one of the offseason’s most interesting storylines.

When Spring camp convened this season in Athens, Ga., all eyes were on the quarterback position and the three likely candidates – Brice Ramsey, Faton Bauta and Jacob Park. Since the end of spring practices, there has been a lot of change and some new names added to the list.

It began with the rumors that Georgia was pursing then-Notre Dame transfer Everett Golson. That persisted until Golson finally decided to join the Florida State Seminoles. Then seemingly out of nowhere, Georgia landed UVA transfer Greyson Lambert, and things started getting topsy-turvy.
The addition of Lambert and the realization that next year the job was probably going to belong to incoming freshman Jacob Eason caused the other Jacob (Park) to put in for his own transfer. It was announced today that Park will enroll at Navarro Junior College before making his next move into a Division 1 school.
Then there was the speculation that Lambert could be entering in as the starter, which could in turn cause the now graduated Faton Bauta to use his final year of eligibility elsewhere.
Through all this, Mark Richt said little, if nothing and the question of who would be under center for the 2015 Bulldogs remained somewhat mysterious.
Until today.
The Bulldogs released their preseason depth chart in the newest media guide, and sophomore Brice Ramsey is listed as the number one quarterback, with Bauta coming in at number two. So really, very little has changed since the end of 2014, other than the name at the number three spot.
Of course, all of this could be flipped upside down once again after fall camp, but for now Ramsey has been tagged as the Georgia starter, and it would seem that its his job to lose.
