Ohio State’s Braxton Miller makes brilliant move to wide receiver

Ohio State’s Braxton Miller won’t win the Buckeyes quarterback competition, because he made the brilliant move to switch positions to receiver and it’ll also help his NFL future.

What if I told you that the reigning national champs would be even better on offense the next year? What if I were to tell you that Ohio State would be able to play Braxton Miller and either J.T. Barrett or Cardale Jones at the same time? What if I were to tell you that arguably the best athlete in college football would sacrifice individual glory for his team and switch positions?

That is exactly what is happening as Braxton Miller is switching from quarterback to play h-back and return punts, according to Sports Illustrated’s Pete Thamel.

Miller will play the hybrid role for Ohio State made famous at Florida under Urban Meyer by Percy Harvin and will compete with Curtis Samuel and Dontre Wilson at the position to give opposing defenses fits. The athleticism and speed on the field at any given time is unrivaled in college football.

Miller has juke moves you only see in video games. Miller has exceptional playmaking ability with the ball in his hands and is a dangerous runner in the open field and is confident he’ll excel in his new position.

“I want to be the best at what I do,” Miller told Thamel.

It is that kind of attitude that Meyer loves and asks for from all his players. To get that from a fifth-year senior who could have transferred and be a starting quarterback for a team like LSU speaks to the type of character he has. Every Buckeye fan has to be hoping this move works out well for Miller because if it does it could easily catapult Ohio State to a second consecutive national championship.
