A pair of Florida were charged with misdemeanors after failing to pay their tab at a bowling alley.

It wouldn’t be the college football offseason without another report of some student-athletes getting arrested or charged with a crime. Today’s culprits are Florida running back Adam Lane and defensive tackle Caleb Brantley who were charged with they left the Splitz Bowling Alley without paying their tab.

The news was first reported by Thomas Goldkamp of 247Sports‘ Florida affiliate GatorBait.net.

According to Goldkamp’s report, Lane and Brantley are charged with obtaining food or lodging with intent to defraud, which is a a second-degree misdemeanor.

The incident in question took place on the Fourth of July when Lane racked up a for $16.93 tab while Brantley’s was for $42.34 in the roughly 45 minutes they were there.

First of all, how careless do you have to be to walk out on your bill? Secondly, for all the grief Florida fans gave former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston last spring when he walked out of a Publix without paying for $30 worth of crab legs, they should be prepared for similar treatment.

Granted, neither Lane nor Brantley are the same caliber of player as Winston, but this is not a good look for either one. I don’t think anything major comes of this other than a lot more running and conditioning for the two in the early morning hours, but hopefully they’ll learn their lesson and you know, pay their tab the next time they go out.
