Dylan Moses, the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2017 has decommitted from the LSU Tigers but they remain at the top of his list despite opening up his recruitment.

He was a phenom before he even enrolled in high school as Dylan Moses (Baton Rouge, LA University Lab) had scholarship offers from programs like LSU and Alabama as a middle schooler, but the young phenom showed he’s mature beyond his years on Monday.

Moses decommitted from the LSU Tigers where he had been committed for the last two years, but the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2017 said in a twitter post that he did what he felt was right at the time and what he felt he was expected to do. After talking with his parents, the 6-2, 222-pound outside linebacker/running back decided to back off the verbal commitment and wants to think things through before committing once more to the program of his choosing.

You can read his full message posted to his twitter account below.

This read like a 10-year NFL veteran wrote the message and not a person who is two years away from graduating high school so it goes to show you the maturity levels from Moses and how his parents have raised him the right way.

LSU fans don’t need to panic or worry too much about his decommitting because of everything Moses mentioned in his message and the Tigers are still the No. 1 team for him, but with so much time before he needs to sign his letter of intent there’s no need for him to felt pressured into making a decision he’s not 100 percent comfortable with.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and Moses should do what’s best for him vs what people think is best for him. With the support system he has around him, he’s going to do just that.
