Nick Chubb is a sensational sophomore running back at Georgia who many have compared to arguably the greatest running back in college football (and certainly Georgia) history, Herschel Walker.

Chubb notched another reason to be compared to Walker against the Southern Jaguars today, running for 131 yards, giving him his 12th consecutive game with over 100 yards, tying Herschel Walker for the most in Georgia history. Anytime you can be mentioned in the same sentence with Walker, you’re a pretty good running back.

The UGA sophmore was held in check for most of the first half, rushing for only 31 yards (although he did score a touchdown on a nice run after catching a screen pass from Greyson Lambert), but in the second half it was clear Chubb and the Georgia offensive line were going to mean business.

Chubb capped off his day with this 49-yard touchdown run in the 3rd quarter.

If Chubb wants to break Walker’s record, he’ll have his work cut out for him, because the Bulldogs will welcome the Alabama Crimson Tide and their tough run defense to Sanford Stadium next week. That would be quite a treat for the Dawgs if they were able to knock off No. 12 Alabama and help Chubb get the record on the same day.

The Heisman Trophy hopeful Chubb has 599 yards, six rushing touchdowns and an 8.4 yard per rush average for the season in 2015 (provided he doesn’t re-enter the game against Southern).
