West Virginia will go on the road to face Oklahoma in an important Big 12 battle. The winner of this game will join TCU and Baylor in the upper echelon of the conference.

Skyler Howard and the West Virginia Mountaineers travel to Norman, Oklahoma to take on Baker Mayfield and the Oklahoma Sooners. Both of these teams are dark horse candidates to win the Big 12 this season, and this game has huge implications.

A dark horse Heisman candidate could arise from the winner of this matchup, too. Baker Mayfield is already starting to feel some love, but don’t be surprised to see Skyler Howard’s name be thrown into the conversation if the Mountaineers pull off an upset. He’s playing just as good as any quarterback in the country right now, and it’s just a matter of time before the nation takes notice.

Baker Mayfield and Lincoln Riley have brought Oklahoma’s offense back to life this season. Mayfield made some mistakes against Tennessee, but has been extremely good other than that. This week, he meets a tenacious West Virginia secondary led by senior safety Karl Joseph. Alongside Joseph at the free safety position, former freshman all-american Dravon Askew-Henry looks to find success against Mayfield and the Oklahoma offense. The strength of West Virginia’s team is clearly their secondary, so Mayfield will need to be sharp at home if Oklahoma wishes to stay unbeaten.

Expect the Gaylord to be jam-packed for this top-25 matchup. You’ll be able to find this game on Fox Sports 1 or you could stream it live on Fox Sports Go.
