The undefeated and 13th ranked Northwestern Wildcats will do battle with the 18th ranked Michigan Wolverines at Michigan Stadium on Saturday. Both teams are led by their defenses, as Northwestern and Michigan have the first and second ranked scoring defenses. Northwestern has given up seven points per game and the Wolverines are giving up 7.6 points per game, and haven’t given up a point since the fourth quarter in week three against UNLV.

Both teams are equally stingy with the yards they give up. Michigan gives up the second fewest yards per game in the nation, yielding just 184 yards per game. Northwestern is fifth, giving up 247.4 yards per game.

Northwestern comes into the game fairly healthy considering the season is five weeks old, but Michigan is dealing with some injury issues. Defensive lineman Mario Ojemudia is out for the season with an Achilles injury and will be missed. He had 19 tackles and six tackles for loss to go with two sacks and an interception before he went down last week against Maryland.

Running back De’Veon Smith is still questionable with a leg injury suffered in the second half of Michigan’s 31-0 win over BYU two weeks ago, and defensive back Channing Stribling is also questionable with an undisclosed injury. It sounds like Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is remaining optimistic that they may see some time on the field in this game.

The game starts at 3:30 PM EST, and can be watched on BTN and streamed online via BTN2GO.
