I know what you’re thinking…Tressel? Jim Tressel? The guy who couldn’t beat the SEC at all?

Yes, that Jim Tressel. He’s currently the president at Youngstown State where he coached before coming to Ohio State and signed a three-year deal to be the ninth president in school history in May of 2014. He may be ready to come out from under his rock and start coaching again.
As of next season, teams will no longer face sanctions stemming from the Ohio State merchandise scandal for hiring Tressel, so he’ll be fair game. In fact, many are pointing to him as a possible candidate for the Maryland job.
Tressel is a smart, seasoned coach who wants another chance. He’s got recruiting savvy and he’s an excellent offensive leader. All things aside, it could be looked at as Georgia giving someone that “second chance” to make a clean go of it.
Then again, memories of giving Jim Harrick another chance might still be lingering, and would shut the door on any discussions with Tressel.
