Jimbo Fisher and the Florida State football team added some size in the trenches with the National Signing Day announcement from four-star offensive tackle Landon Dickerson.

The Florida State Seminoles have one of the nation’s top quarterbacks in the fold in Malik Henry and now he has his own personal bodyguard with the addition of high four-star offensive tackle recruit Landon Dickerson.

Dickerson (Hudson, N.C. South Caldwell) picked the Seminoles over Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn and Florida but this was an expected decision from Dickerson to pick Florida State. In fact, the Crystal Ball on 247Sports had 90 percent of the predictions had Dickerson headed to Tallahassee to play for Fisher and the Noles.

The 6-5, 300-pound Dickerson is the nation’s No. 31 overall recruit, so he just missed the cut for being a five-star recruit and is the No. 4 offensive tackle and No. 2 recruit in the state of North Carolina, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Florida State entered National Signing Day with the nation’s No. 3 recruiting class and the top class in the ACC, according to the 247Sports Team Rankings and are among the biggest winners of the day so far after getting Brian Burns, Carlos Becker, Shavar Manuel, Jauan Williams and Amir Rasul earlier in the day.

The addition of Dickerson further strengthens the offensive line with No. 1 center Baveon Johnson who is the No. 42 recruit already on board.

It remains to be seen if Dickerson can compete for playing time as a true freshman, but chances are he’ll sit, learn and grow in his first year on campus before challenging for a starting spot in the coming years.
