For the seventh straight season, Notre Dame brought in a top 20 recruiting class. Here is the best of the 2016 class.

With National Signing Day come and gone it’s now time to take a look at the best of Notre Dame football’s 2016 recruiting class. Head coach Brian Kelly did a great job of assembling this class as he filled many needs, such as the secondary and offensive line.

By most recruiting services the Irish either had a top 10 or top 15 class, something that has become commonplace since Kelly showed up in South Bend in 2010. The class is loaded with four and five-star talent, along with some sleepers that weren’t rated as high but could develop into great players under Kelly.

The Irish had some huge signees such as Daelin Hayes, Khalid Kareem and Javon McKinley. Demetris Robertson could add himself to this list if he does wind up signing with the Irish.

This class is also filled with under the radar guys like Devin Studstill, Jonathan Jones and Ian Book. All were not rated very high by most recruiting services, but all could develop into good players for the Irish.

Now the 2016 class is a very solid class, but the Irish did miss out some guys that could have been difference makers right away. Caleb Kelly, Ben Davis and Jeffery McCulloch would have been great pieces to this class, but it wasn’t meant to be for Coach Kelly and the Irish.

In this segment, I will pick the; biggest get of the class, best sleeper of the class, most likely to make the earliest impact, the biggest flip of the class, best positional unit of the class and lastly the biggest miss of the class.

There are a few guys still out there deciding on the Fighting Irish, so these awards could change in the coming weeks or days.
