Was Nick Saban right about Georgia being the best job in the SEC? Here are the SEC football jobs ranked from worst to first.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban told CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd that the best SEC football coaching job isn’t the one he currently has at Alabama or the one he used to have at LSU. Rather, the coach with five national championship rings thinks the best coaching job int he SEC is at Georgia where his former assistant Kirby Smart replaced Mark Richt after last season.

“You never know how people do, but I think he’ll do fine,” Saban said of Smart’s future at UGA. “Personally, Georgia, if it’s not the best job in the conference, it certainly should be.”

Saban’s comments got me thinking about the best jobs in the SEC and where all 14 schools rank compared to each other. Was Saban right? Is the best SEC football job the one he has at Alabama or even the one he used to have at LSU?

This is not a ranking of the best head coaches in the SEC. This is a ranking of the best SEC football jobs. If all the jobs were vacant and teams were starting over, which would be considered the most prestigious, offer the most support (financially and from fans) and offers the best chance to win. All these factors and perhaps the most important of them all, who has the best landscape to win consistently based on their recruiting imprint.
