Laremy Tunsil had a bad day at the NFL Draft but left Ole Miss left to pick up the mess.

It was supposed to be a celebration for the Ole Miss football family as the first round of the NFL Draft got underway Thursday evening.

With Laremy Tunsil, Laquon Treadwell and Robert Nkemdiche all expected to get drafted the night figured to be a coronation of the recruiting class that got the Rebels back on the map.

But then things went off the rails with a video leaked on Tunsil’s social media that showed the top draft prospect smoking from a bong. The video was leaked about 30 minutes before the draft began and Tunsil began to slide down in the draft.

Then, as if things weren’t bad enough, messages leaked showing Tunsil asking a coach at Ole Miss for money. After he was picked by the Miami Dolphins with the No. 13 pick, he admitted to taking money from a coach while at Ole Miss.

So much for that celebration. Tunsil dropped a few spots from where he was projected to land in mock drafts so he loses a few million in his rookie contract, but he’ll be okay. But, he scorched the earth in his wake and left Ole Miss holding the bag and the program could be in hot water.

Ole Miss released a statement saying they are “aware of the reports from the NFL Draft about Laremy Tunsil and potential NCAA violations during his time at Ole Miss” and “will aggressively investigate and fully cooperate with the NCAA and the SEC.”
