The 2016 college football season is just around the corner, and while many pick the winners in each conference, this list goes in the opposite direction.

You can scan up and down Google search results and find dozens of different talking heads and experts picking their favorites to win each conference this year, but not quite so many being bold enough to say who’ll be at the bottom.

Now this isn’t to pick on anyone or to kick sand in the face of the 98-pound weakling programs, but the fact of the matter is that someone has to finish last.

Looking over recent finishes, this year’s schedule, coaching changes, recruiting classes – and of course, the almighty gut check – here are three contenders for the worst team in each conference this season with a pick to take home the crown of 2016 cellar dweller.

Some were pretty easy to decide, while others may as well have been chosen by “one potato, two…” or ro-sham-bo (there were that many bad teams in some conferences).

If you’re a season ticket holder for one of these teams, you deserve a medal for valor…or at least some extra salt on your pretzel.

Oh, and not that it matters, but the worst independent team will once again be, the Army Black Knights…but they still get to play in the best game of the year. Hooah!
