The Auburn recruiting class added the commitment from four-star athlete Tray Bishop.

Auburn started the week off right as on Monday, they received a commitment from 2017 four-star athlete Tray Bishop (Terrell County, Dawson, GA). This news was first reported by Keith Niebuhr of 247Sports.

Bishop is the No. 148 player in the 2017 class, No. 3 athlete, and No. 18 player in the state of Georgia per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Receiving 19 offers in total, he was recruited to the Tigers by Scott Fountain, who is the program’s special teams coordinator and tight ends coach.

On the Auburn front, they began recruiting him last year as he attended a camp on June 13, 2015, and was offered by the program that same day. A couple of days later on June 19, he took an unofficial visit to the campus. That would be all for the month of June, but July brought another unofficial visit on July 24. Things would cool down for the summer, but heat up again during the school year as he took an unofficial visit on Halloween.

In 2016, he took an unofficial visit to Auburn on February 20, and although he would receive offers and attention from other programs, he remained faithful to Auburn and that was clear as he committed Monday.

With this pledge, the 2017 Auburn class is shaping up nicely with 12 commitments overall and six with the four-star distinction. Overall, Gus Malzahn’s recruiting class is now ranked No. 13 nationally and No. 6 in the SEC per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

He has the type of elusiveness that could be very beneficial in Auburn’s offense. They have prided themselves on players that can play up-tempo and he certainly fits the mold.
