A young Tennessee Volunteers football fan was not happy with the team’s performance last week against Appalachian State, so she wrote a letter to the team.

It was not a great week for the Tennessee Volunteers football team. Not only did the team nearly lose to Appalachian State and fall from No. 9 to No. 17 in the AP Poll, but now one of their younger fans is calling them out.

The Volunteers won last Thursday 20-13 in overtime on a fumble into the end zone, surviving a serious scare. Plenty of fans were upset about the debut for Tennessee, but one fan in second grade decided that she needed to let the Volunteers know how bad the game was.

The teacher of this student tweeted out the letter that her second grade student wrote. In the letter, the girl calls it like she sees it, saying, “We suck. That game was a nightmare”. You can check out the entire letter below.

Even though the Mountaineers are a solid program, Tennessee was expecting a better performance considering they came into the season as a top-10 team. Fortunately, they were able to come back from down 10 at halftime to avoid the major upset.

Things won’t get any easier this week, with the Volunteers taking on the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday in the Battle at Bristol. If they fall in this one, then they can kiss any chance at making the College Football Playoff goodbye.
