Saturday Blitz brings you some of the biggest injuries heading into Week 3 of the college football season.

This week’s injury report brings a few injuries sure to affect a few team’s climb to success. Most notably, Clemson’s Hunter Renfrow, who will miss extended time. There are a lot to keep track of with over 100 teams in the FBS, but let’s go ahead and break down some of the most notable heading into Saturday.

QB Anu Solomon, Arizona

Quarterback Anu Solomon will likely miss this week’s game against Hawaii due to a knee injury. Solomon also missed last week’s game against Grambling State.

Brandon Dawkins will start again in his place.

Solomon’s status to return is still uncertain as coaches continues to play it by ear.

Dawkins was 15 for 29 with 223 passing yards and a passing touchdown last week against Grambling State. He also ran for two scores.

New Mexico State running back Larry Rose III is out for this week’s game against Kentucky due to a groin injury.

He rushed for 1,651 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns last season. Rose III has not played in a game this season for the Aggies.

WR Dontez Ford, Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh Panthers receiver Dontez Ford is doubtful this week in their matchup against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

It will certainly put a hole in an already thin receiving core for the Panthers. They have used running back James Conner quite a bit though as a receiving option.

Conner has two receiving touchdowns this season.

Ford left with an arm injury in the Panthers’ 42-39 victory over Penn State in Week 2. His status for the game is up in the air.

He has two catches for 14 yards this season.

Clemson wide receiver Hunter Renfrow is out at least a month with a broken hand. Renfrow has been one of Deshaun Watson’s favorite targets this season, making spectacular catches in most scenarios.

Renfrow has caught four passes for 62 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Return man and running back RayRay McCloud will step up in his place.

It’s the perfect time for McCloud, as he needs to redeem himself after last game’s fumble punt return touchdown.

S Derwin James, Florida State

The Seminoles are playing in their biggest game of the season so far against No. 10 Louisville. Unfortunately, they’ll be without star safety Derwin James.

Florida State’s star safety is expected to miss five to seven weeks with a knee injury, meaning that he’ll miss Saturday’s game against Louisville. Without James, the Seminoles are going to have step up in a big way to contain Louisville quarterback and Heisman front runner Lamar Jackson.

RB Corey Clement, Wisconsin

Wisconsin running back Corey Clement is questionable for this week’s game against Georgia State due to an ankle injury.

Clement has run for 197 yards and three touchdowns on the season.

Running backs Dare Ogunbowale and Taiwan Deal will take snaps as needed while Clement recovers from injury. Both backs currently have 13 carries each on the season.
