With the Pac-12 inner conference games already started and the full blown slate about to begin let’s take a look where we can find the conference we love.

Here is a quick recap on what is happening in the Pac-12 in case you have been missing in action.

The Stanford Cardinal are leading the Pac-12 with a 3-0 record and had their first conference game against USC who they defeated with ease. Running back Christian McCaffery is working his way to winning the Heisman Trophy this season.

Washington is also undefeated and they have probably the best sophomore quarterback in the conference with Jake Browning. He is leading the passing department in passing rating and has 12 touchdowns with just one interception on the season.

Utah Utes have shown dominance this season. They beat USC in their first conference game and are now 4-0 on the season. Utah doesn’t have much on the offensive side of the ball, but what they are lacking in offense, they make up for it on defense.

Oregon Ducks were 2-0 and the #22nd ranked team in the country before losing to Nebraska last week. They had the game in their wings when the defense collapsed. It also didn’t help that running back Royce Freeman early due to a leg injury.

UCLA is another team that has been tougher on defense rather than their offense. Interesting, considering that Josh Rosen had such a fantastic season last year. He is now ranked 10th in quarterback rating. Their run also has issues with Nate Starks. They need the return of Soso Jamabo.

Arizona State has probably been the most surprising team in the Pac-12. At this point, they have a 3-0 record and Kalen Ballage has been pleasantly shocking as a running back from nowhere. Ballage is tied for sixth in yards rushing (255) and has the lead in touchdowns (9) and is fifth in yards per carry  (6.9).

Arizona has an up and down season. They have won two of the three games played but just have not looked very good doing it. They should have beaten the BYU Cougars, but allowed a last second drive so that BYU could kick the winning field goal. Against the other two opponets Grambling and Hawaii, they also struggled. Keep an eye on freshman J.J, Taylor he is a spark plug and fun to watch.

California Golden Bears have been interesting. They defeat Hawaii by 20 points, then lose to San Diego State by five, and then go beat #11 Texas. They are struggling on defense as they couldn’t stop the running game of a Pee Wee football team. Their offense, however, with quarterback Davis Webb, running back Vic Enwere, and wide receiver Chad Hansen is special.

USC Trojans basically lost out on any playoff hopes or Rose Bowl aspirations tonight with the loss to #24 Utah Utes. They have won just once in the last four games, and that was against Utah State. For conference games, they have now lost to the Utes and Stanford Cardinal. What’s even worse is players such as Ju Ju Smith-Schuster is regressing due to lack of solid offensive play.

Colorado looks like the team that can beat anyone, but in the end, they just give them one tough battle. For instance, last week against Michigan, they stayed with them throughout the game but ended up losing 45-28. They did end up beating cream puffs Colorado State and Idaho State, to hold their record at 2-1.

Washington State got their first win of the season by defeating Idaho 56-6. Their first two losses were to Eastern Michigan and Boise State by a total of six points. It is a good thing they have Luke Falk and Gabe Marks or they would never win a game.

Oregon State has been horrible over the last season and into this one as well. They were on a ten game losing streak before finally breaking through against Idaho State. Now teams know where to go when needing their first win of the season or to snap a losing streak.

Direc TV is still without the Pac-12 Network.
