ACC Football saw some dominating performances and a blocked PAT to cap off a rain-filled weekend of college football. In Week 6, some teams separated themselves from the pack while for others, it was more of the same result.

In a slip and slide like Saturday of games, the Atlantic Coast Conference power rankings saw all kinds of movement this week.

The NC State Wolfpack upset the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to hand them their fourth loss of the season. The Seminoles dashed the Hurricanes hopes of an undefeated season on a blocked PAT attempt to get their first conference win.

The Boston College Golden Eagles fall to 13th in this week’s power rankings. The Golden Eagles have given up a conference worst 122 points per game. Their 56-10 loss to Clemson on Friday night shows changes are coming in Chestnut Hill.

Boston College is far removed from the stout defense they had a season ago. They are 0-3 in ACC play and lost their 11th straight conference game to Clemson.

The offense has been nonexistent in their last two losses. This week they had 251 total yards of offense, two turnovers, and were 6 for 19 on third down conversions. There was a pick six in garbage time as well that marred a miserable day for Boston College.

The defense allowed 503 total yards of offense, 229 rushing yards, and three rushing touchdowns. Through the air, they were torched for 274 passing yards and four touchdowns.

This Week: Bye

The Boston College squad gets a week to regroup before returning October 22 to face the Syracuse Orange. If they hope to snap their losing streak, it will be against the Orange.

The Virginia Cavaliers are coming off a bye week and stay at 12 in this week’s power rankings. They are 1-0 in ACC play and currently second in the ACC Coastal standings. They face the Pittsburgh Panthers this week.
