The Houston Cougars look to bounce back this week after losing their shot at a College Football Playoff bid last week in a loss. The Tulsa Golden Hurricanes enter this week 1-0 in American Athletic Conference play and have upset on their mind this week.

The Houston Cougars are coming off their first loss of the season 46-40 to the Navy Midshipmen. They are 5-1 on the season and 2-1 in AAC play.

The Cougars came into the game with a highly rated rushing defense but Navy’s rushing attack proved superior. Navy ran for 306 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the day.

No opponent rushed for more than 100 yards all season against Houston.

The teams played to a 20-20 tie until halftime. Quarterback Greg Ward Jr.’s pick-six in the third quarter sprung things open for Navy and they never looked back.

The Cougars turned the ball over three times in the game.

Ward Jr. did throw three touchdown passes in the games along with 359 passing yards and 94 rushing yards and a rushing score.

Houston looks to bounce back this week as they face another conference opponent in Tulsa.  They boast the conference’s third best offense, earning 502 yards per game.
