Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver Dede Westbrook has been on an absolute tear this season, and he was back at it again on Saturday against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

It has been a fantastic season for Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver Dede Westbrook. The Sooners were going to need him on Saturday in a Big 12 showdown against the West Virginia Mountaineers, and he made sure to answer the call.

The Sooners got off to a great start on Saturday. After a muffed punt gave the Sooners the ball back, they scored the first points of the game on a Semaje Perine touchdown to go up 7-0.

Shortly after that opening score, Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield looked for Westbrook on third down on a bubble screen. Westbrook found a hole and took off, but when it looked like he was going to get tackled, the senior receiver shook the defender off and took the pass all the way for a 75-yard touchdown.

You can watch the amazing play in the video below.

That score gave Westbrook 15 receiving touchdowns this season, tying an Oklahoma single-season record. The craziest part is that all of those touchdowns have come in just the last eight games.

After losing two games early in the season, the Sooners have completely turned things around and have had one of the best offenses in college football. It’s still a long shot, but there’s a small chance that the Sooners can still wind up in the College Football Playoff.

Oklahoma is hoping that a blowout win over a talented West Virginia team can help them move up in this week’s rankings.
