The Oregon Ducks pulled off the miracle upset win over the Utah Utes on Saturday thanks to his impressive throw and catch to Darren Carrington II.

This has been a season to forget for the Oregon Ducks. However, a magical play to end Saturday’s game against the Utah Utes will at least have them celebrating a much-needed win as the season comes to a close.

The Ducks came into Saturday’s game against the Utes as serious underdogs. However, they were put in a situation to win the game late in the fourth quarter on the final drive. Freshman quarterback Justin Herbert was a big reason for that, throwing for 324 yards while picking up four total touchdowns.

Late in the fourth quarter, the Ducks were driving down 24-28 with mere seconds remaining. In an act of desperation, Herbert chucked up a pass to receiver Darren Carrington II in the back of the end zone. Carrington appeared to make an impressive catch, but the play was ruled incomplete.

However, after further review, it was determined that Carrington was in bounds and had scored a touchdown. Here’s a video of the play so you can see for yourself if he was in bounds.

That touchdown helped Oregon take a huge 30-28 upset win over the Utes, who were ranked No. 12 in the country heading into this game. The Ducks are now just 4-7 and aren’t going to be going to a bowl game, but at least they can remember this win fondly.

As for the Utes, they’re going to have a tough time shaking this loss off. However, at 8-3, they have to be proud of the progress they’ve made as a program this season.
