Grambling Tigers wide receiver Verlan Hunter showed off some insane hands on an incredible catch during the Celebration Bowl against N.C. Central.

Bowl season officially kicked off on Saturday with the Celebration Bowl between the Grambling Tigers and North Carolina Central Eagles. It didn’t take long for what could be one of the most impressive bowl game plays to take place.

Early in the fourth quarter on Saturday, the Tigers held a slim 10-3 lead and were driving down the field. On third and long, Grambling quarterback Devante Kincade felt pressure and rolled out to extend the play.

Kincade was able to get a pass off, and although it was a little high, Grambling wide receiver Verlan Hunter made an absurd one-handed catch to reel it in for the first down. Unfortunately, the play was called back due to a holding penalty. Still, it was an impressive catch that’s worth watching in the video below.

It has been a great season for the Tigers, heading into the Celebration Bowl with a solid 11-1 record. Meanwhile, the Eagles had a solid 9-2 season and were looking to pull off the upset.

While Grambling didn’t exactly have a tough schedule coming out of the SWAC, the Tigers should still be thrilled with how their season has gone. In fact, Grambling’s only loss this season was a hard-fought 31-21 defeat to the Arizona Wildcats.

Fans of the Tigers are hoping that they can cap off the season with a big bowl win. Plays like this may not count, but they can go a long way in the momentum department.
