Former NFL running back Brandon Jacobs had some harsh words about his old coach, Michigan football’s Jim Harbaugh.

Brandon Jacobs spent most of his NFL career with the New York Giants, but he did make a one-year pit stop in San Francisco in 2012. Who was the head coach at the time? None other than Michigan football’s Jim Harbaugh.

The outspoken, sometimes controversial, head coach led the 49ers to a Super Bowl during his time in San Francisco, but apparently didn’t make many friends. There have been reports before about former players bashing Harbaugh as a coach and Jacobs is the latest to do so.

While Jacobs isn’t the first to knock his former coach, he certainly opened some eyes with his comments. He really did not hold back on Tiki Barber’s radio show:

This might come as a bit of a shock to people since Harbaugh had worked his magic at San Diego and Stanford before taking the job at San Francisco. However, he seemed to have been run out of town and it’s becoming clear that players didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye with him in the NFL.

There’s something to be said about that. While Harbaugh seems to have an infectious personality at the collegiate level, professional players don’t want that same treatment. Some coaches are just made for the college game and some are the other way around. Harbaugh seems like he’s fit to be a college coach more than anything else.

Jacobs admitted that he and Harbaugh didn’t agree on everything, but he did say that “that guy didn’t know anything.” Harsh words.
