Wake Forest football fell 41-34 to Boston College in a crucial early-season ACC matchup. The Demon Deacons defense simply couldn’t keep up with the Eagles offensive attack.

In an important early-season ACC match-up, Boston College (3-0) defeated Wake Forest (2-1) 41-34 to stay perfect on the season. Boston College senior running back A.J. Dillon ran for 33 yards on 185 carries, showing just how dominant of a runner he is and why he has garnered Heisman buzz.

The Eagles struck first and looked like they could take control of the game early, but a muffed punt and blocked punt led to 14 easy points for Wake Forest, keeping the Demon Deacons alive this game for perhaps longer than they should’ve been.

The game went into halftime tied at 21 and Wake Forest took the lead on a field goal early in the third. Boston College took control with huge passing plays off of play-action, outscoring Wake Forest 20-3 to finish the game.
