Fresh off a blowout win over Florida State, Notre Dame football looks to take down Syracuse in quarterback Ian Book’s return from injury.

There was much concern in regard to how backup quarterback Brandon Wimbush would perform in his first start since being benched in favor of Ian Book for Notre Dame’s Week 4 matchup against Wake Forest. Given how well Florida State had fared against the run (Wimbush’s strong suit), it was understandable that some would view last week’s contest as a potential trap game.

However, the Irish did more than just survive an upset, compiling nearly 500 total yards against a Seminoles team that continues to reel under head coach Willie Taggart. Despite a few minor scares heading into and coming out of halftime, the Irish were in control throughout the game, covering the spread and taking down Florida State by a score of 42-13.

Now, Notre Dame looks to carry this momentum into this season’s Shamrock Series matchup against Syracuse at Yankee Stadium. With Book in line to continue his stellar season, here are three bold predictions for him and the rest of the Irish as they look to preserve their undefeated season.
