2018 may have ended in disappointment for Notre Dame football, but there’s still much to take away from an otherwise positive season.

Senior linebacker and captain Drue Tranquill put it best when he referred to the 2018 season as a “brilliant journey that ended in complete disappointment.” Unfortunately for Notre Dame fans, this feeling has become all too familiar over the course of the last decade. In what was almost a carbon copy of the 2012 season, Irish fans witnessed their team fall short on the biggest stage.

The Irish will lose a significant amount of talent this off-season, but decent depth coupled with strong recruiting classes should preserve Notre Dame’s strength at certain positions.

As for now, let’s take a look into some of the most significant takeaways from the 2018 season and what they may mean for the Irish in 2019.
