Utah football came up short in the 2019 Pac-12 Championship Game. Here are three possible destinations for the Utes this bowl season.

The No. 6 Utes fell short in the Pac-12 Championship Game against the No. 14 Oregon Ducks which means their bid for a College Football Playoff spot is all but finished.

Despite not playing for a national championship this season, the Utes can still get either an at-large bid to a New Year’s Six bowl, or take the Pac-12 Tier 1 bowl.

Other than the Rose Bowl, the Pac-12 have ties to the Alamo Bowl and the Las Vegas Bowl. It’ll be interesting to see whether the Alamo Bowl or the Las Vegas Bowl qualifies for Tier 1. The Las Vegas bowl is played in what will eventually become the new home of the Raiders. With the change in venue, the Las Vegas Bowl should receiver more prominence than the Alamo Bowl.

Despite how the Pac-12 prioritizes the Las Vegas bowl, the Utes should have their eye on the New Year’s Six. They are a 10-win team with a good resume. Their spot on the New Year’s Six depends on how far they fall in the College Football Playoff rankings. The Utes want to stay in the top 12 for a chance at the New Year’s Six.

Here are some possible landing spots for the Utes.
