Chip Kelly is facing a crucial 2020 season with his job as UCLA football coach on the line. Will the Bruins go bowling for the first time under Kelly?

Hopes were high for Chip Kelly from the get-go. The former Oregon head coach had led the Ducks to a national title game and was one of the best offensive minds in college football and UCLA hired him to have that same type of success in Los Angeles.

The Bruins have been one of the biggest disappointments from the Pac-12 over the past few years. Kelly has yet to make a bowl game, but the Bruins could be on the rise this season with a head coach in his third season as well as Dorian Thompson-Robinson a year wiser and with more experience under center.

Defensively, the Bruins need to improve tremendously. They’ve been unreliable on that side of the ball for years and that hasn’t changed under Kelly.

Unfortunately, the same has happened on offense despite having some key playmakers over the past few years. Gone is Joshua Kelley and there will be new faces in the backfield trying to pick up the slack with a two-time 1,000-yard rusher gone.

Can UCLA shake off the past two seasons of no postseason football and make a bowl game in 2020?
