USC football started trending with another highly-ranked four-star cornerback in Jaeden Gould who was thought to be headed to Penn State.

When this week is all said and done, it’s going to have gone really well for USC football as the Trojans are poised to land another key commitment this weekend.

Earlier this week, USC football landed Mykel Williams, a five-star defensive lineman from Columbus, Georgia. He’s 6-foot-5, 265 pounds, and is ranked as the No. 26 prospect overall according to the 247 sports composite rankings.

Williams is the second five-star commitment for USC football in the 2022 recruiting class as the Trojans also got a verbal from Domani Jackson, the top-ranked corner and fourth-ranked recruit overall.

While USC recently hosted another five-star cornerback in Will Johnson, who is committed to Michigan, the Trojans are also poised to land a top-200 commitment from another east-coast cornerback — Jaeden Gould.

Gould crystal balls flipping from Penn State to USC

Gould is 6-foot-2, 193 pounds, and out of Oradell, New Jersey. He’s ranked as the No. 153 overall recruit in the 2022 class, second in the state of New Jersey, and 18th among cornerbacks according to the 247 sports composite rankings.

Recently, Gould had been trending with crystal ball predictions to Penn State. In fact, the picks were into the double-digits. But now, all those predictions have started to flip to the Trojans as Gould is set to announce his decision on Sunday.

The four-star cornerback took a visit to USC football on June 4th and then spent last weekend with Penn State. It looked like the Nittany Lions were going to be the team to beat, but Donte Williams is one of the best recruiters in the country and appears to have worked his magic again.

There are 12 crystal ball predictions total for Gould right now and 10 of the 12 are for USC. The others haven’t been updated and there’s a confidence level of seven on a scale of 1-10.

As far as what Gould would bring to USC, well another really talented defensive back. The Trojans have been on a roll with DBs, even going back to 2021 when they were able to get Ceyair Wright.

The Trojans are also trending with predictions for four-star defensive lineman Christen Miller and also three-star running back DeAnthony Gatson.

Gatson is ranked 473rd overall, while Miller, a 6-foot-4, 285-pound D-lineman is 118th and is also out of Georgia like Williams. USC football has just seven commitments now but that will change and soon, so will the Trojans ranking, which is 18th but is going to go up.
