Winner

5. Michigan Wolverines

Rivals Class Rank: No. 49

This is not a great recruiting class by any Michigan Wolverines or Jim Harbaugh standard. But given where this football program was on Tuesday, getting a Top 50 class was a borderline miracle.

Harbaugh pulled off a great day with the addition of 4-star TE/DE Tyrone Wheatley, Jr. and 3-Star DE Shelton Johnson. This class was ranked No. 72 on Tuesday and No. 82 before that, at one point being the worst of the Power Five.

Considering that Harbaugh got started late, Michigan is coming off of a 5-7 season, and Brady Hoke’s recruiting class was already in the tank before he took over, giving him absolutely nothing to work with a month out, Harbaugh saved a disaster. Getting in the Top 50 was a good start.

It is pretty obvious that the next few Michigan Wolverines National Signing Days will be a heck of a lot better than this one, so the program gets a mulligan Harbaugh’s first year in. Now, he has an entire year to start working on the 2016 football season, and you can best believe he will get started immediately.

Michigan will be fine. They just needed a decent floor, and they got that.
