Winner
4. UCLA Bruins
Rivals Class Rank: No. 13
This ranking is slightly tentative because of the fact that one recruit, 4-star linebacker Roquan Smith, committed but then did not sign due to a coaching change, leaving his status up in the air. Still, even without Smith, UCLA had one of the best mornings it could have asked for.
Adding 5-star running back Soso Jamabo was a huge pickup, especially over the Texas schools, and combining that with the top tight end in the country in Chris Clark pushed this class over the edge. On top of those two guys, offensive lineman Josh Wariboko and athlete Nathan Meadors selected the Bruins, and finally, Cordell Broadus, the son of famous rapper and longtime USC fan Snoop Dogg, defied his father’s loyalties and picked the in-state rival.
Broadus’s commitment to UCLA shows just how great of a day this was for the Bruins, and things could only get better. The addition of Smith simply makes this icing on the cake, as UCLA had one of the most exciting National Signing Days anybody could ask for.
Clearly, Jim Mora knows what he is doing and has the program heading in the right direction. UCLA is not going anywhere, even with USC back.
