SEC Player Rankings: Top 5 Receivers Entering Spring Practice
Oct 11, 2014; Starkville, MS, USA; Mississippi State Bulldogs wide receiver De
De’Runnya Wilson – Mississippi State
Mississippi State fans are all about the #DakAttack and rightfully so. Their stud at quarterback can certainly make plays, but he’ll need help from the junior at wide receiver if Mississippi State wants to be considered a threat again this season.
Wilson hauled in a solid 47 receptions in his sophomore season, gaining 680 yards. He also found the endzone nine times. He has all the tools that should give him another solid season, but he cannot have consecutive games only hauling in two receptions like he did against Kentucky and Arkansas.
He needs to pick up where he left off in the 2014 season when he racked up 90 yards or more in each of the Bulldogs last three games.
Speedy Noil – Texas A&M
The phenomenal freshman showed that he has so much potential even if the Aggies rotated quarterbacks like a mechanic rotates tires. Noil has nowhere to go but up as Texas A&M’s number one receiver, Malcome Kennedy, has graduated.
Noil grabbed 46 receptions for 583 yards in 12 games last season, and will certainly play a bigger role this season. The former five star recruit lives up to his name and is quite speedy, so expect him to be the deep threat attack Kevin Sumlin needs for his offense.
