4. Does Artavis Scott take a step toward superstardom?
Last season Artavis Scott had 76 receptions and finished just 35 yards shy of the 1,000 yard mark for the season at 935 receiving yards. This season Scott will be asked to do even more and the question is has he prepared well enough, worked hard enough and improved enough to take it to the next level.
Scott isn’t as naturally gifted as recent Clemson wide receivers Sammy Watkins or Martavis Bryant, but he can still produce close to what they gave Clemson and still take another step in his development. This spring game will still be early to judge Scott on his progression from the offseason, but this should be a good indicator of what he has done and if he is ready for the next step.
Scott’s next level should be over 1,000 yards receiving and at least 10 touchdowns. There is no reason Scott can’t take the jump as I said before he isn’t Watkins or Bryant, but few are, and Scott is still extraordinarily talented and will no doubt be the focal point of the Clemson passing game.
The thought here is that Scott improves enough to once again make him one of the hardest covers in the ACC.
