3. Does Isaiah Ford improve on freshman campaign?

Most of the time when players go to the next level, the second year at that level is the year that is most critical to their development. In college football this is no different. After the first year you have a full offseason in the program to train, you know what the coaches expect, you know the competition level, coaches tell you what to improve on and you adjust to the speed of the game at the next level.

In 2014 Isaiah Ford had 56 catches for 709 yards and six touchdowns. Those are very good numbers for a freshman, let alone one with an unstable quarterback. However the question is can he take the next step and become one of the better receivers in the ACC, or the country. Those are very big steps and if he can do that Virginia Tech obviously looks a lot scarier on offense.

The next step may be a little below that, but 75 catches and 1,000 yards does not seem out of reach for Ford, especially considering he will be the go to option for the team. This game could go a long way towards showing how well the offseason has gone for Ford, how hard he has worked and if the improvements on offense are noticeable already.

The spring game will be very interesting for Ford and Brewer as their production levels this year are no doubt intertwined.
